The Roots Of The Living Tradition Of Ashtanga Yoga
Ashtari Yoga has been the first yoga center in South Lombok to settle permanently. Its founders took yoga philosophy very seriously as it was passed over from previous owners, Ibu Morgan, a late hippie and passionate traveller, who used to meditate with the monkeys at sunrise in the early days on the exact location of the existing Shala, before she would cook vegetarian Indian food in her restaurant upstairs during the rest of the day. Tradition is a word of high significance when you embrace Ashtari vision and lifestyle. Our lead teacher, Marilu Casalino, an authorized Ashtanga teacher level 1 from KPJAYI in My Sore, India, has brought with her the living tradition of Ashtanga Yoga to Ashtari Shala.
